South Africa's Cricket Board have finally confirmed that AB de Villiers retirement will remain final and there is no more and any changes is possible. Now its the end of the road for AB de Villiers. It is sad that we won't see the genius in international matches.De Villiers never come back, De Villiers retirement will remain final

Mark Boucher Proteas coach said that there was little chance for  AB De Villiers as He might be consider  in T20 World Cup squad later this year. But Finally it won't be possible now.


  • 2018 : Announced his retirement
  • 2019 : Made himself available for SA 's WC campaign but is not picked 
  • 2021 :  Decided that his retirement will once and for all REMAIN FINAL

Cricket South Africa and AB De Villiers had ongoing conversation since last year as he might get a chance in small format of the cricket . 


Due to the Covid-19 pandemic IPL 2021 is postponed and this would be that time the great news for South Africa team as now AB is more focused for 2021 T20 world cup.  Boucher wants that De Villiers  to come out of retirement and serve the country .


Boucher said.

According to the coach the conversation is open between them. De Villiers had announced his retirement from international cricket in May 2018.  AB perform great at the IPL, he prove to himself and everyone else that he is key asset for the country and the team and could dominate at that level in the small format of the game . 


AB played 114 Tests, 228 ODIs and 78 T20Is before announcing his surprise retirement.

In a statement released by CSA on Tuesday (17-4-2021) ) it was final that The board further stated that de Villiers has decided that his ‘retirement will remain final.AB De Villiers couldn't make it to South Africa's squad for the tour of West Indies next month.
